In-form racer Jamie Maiolo survived the casualties to win a tough battle in the Southern Thunder Series at Coates Hire Bunbury Speedway last Saturday.
The format ran with no time trial so this made the heat races more valuable for the points in the four-round series.
The track was fast and began to open up seeing some of the best outside racing passes in years.
Jamie Maiolo blasted away with Mark Wells close behind.
As the lead diced and changed, it was clear the feature race was going to be an awesome affair.
After the third re-start it was Maiolo who had been patient right throughout the 30-lap affair to bide
his time and take yet another feature win, making it two in a row after winning at Albany the previous week.
Shaun Bradford had put on a great drive for second with Ken Sartori in third place.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
