She may be just 14 years old, but track talent Imogen Keall is something of a veteran when it comes to competing in national athletics competitions.
The South West Academy of Sport scholarship holder recently qualified for her fifth Australian Junior Athletics Championships, securing a lane in a 400m race at next year’s event.
She will join about 1700 up-and-coming athletes from around the country at the WA Athletics Stadium in Perth for six days of competition in March.
Keall said she was looking forward to once again putting her skills to the test on the national stage.
“The championships always have a really nice atmosphere,” she said.
The Busselton teenager, who is also known to spend time on the hockey field, is set to impress at nationals.At the WA Little Athletics Country Championships in Albany earlier this month, the gifted young sportswoman won six gold medals, plus a silver and a bronze, in a diverse range of events, including running, long jump and discus.
