Collie born and raised talent Dean Porter made sure there was a South West flavour on the podium, when a major motocross competition was staged in Bunbury on Sunday.
Engines were roaring and mud flying as round three of the WA State Motocross series hit Shrubland Park and Porter, riding a Suzuki RMZ 450, led the way, taking out the prestigious Pro-Open class.
He also won the Pro Lite class.
More than 260 riders from around WA descended on the track – the highest number of any rounds so far this season. A bumper crowd of about 2000 packed the track to see the action.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
