Premier Colin Barnett has announced the State Govt would build a $15m headquarters in Bunbury for the new WA Parks Authority – an offshoot department of the DEC – if re-elected.
He says this fulfils his commitment to grow a government presence in Bunbury and will bring 120 staff to “WA’s second city”.
The DEC will be spilt into two stand-alone agencies, the WA parks Authority and the Department of Environment Regulation.
The Bunbury office will be located at Turkey Point, near the Leschenault Estuary.
