Little Aussie the kitten is being described as a battler following a horrific act of animal cruelty last month which left him with multiple injuries.
The four-week-old short-haired tabby kitten was thrown from a moving car on Heppingstone Road at Brunswick on Australia Day and was delivered to the Brunswick Veterinary Hospital by a witness to the incident.
Animal attendant Cecilia Obal said she arrived at the veterinary hospital on Saturday to find the kitten outside the front door.
Aussie suffered a broken hind leg, a fractured front leg and injuries to his jaw in the incident.
Practice manager Johanna Scott said Aussie was recovering well.
“Initially he couldn’t eat by himself so we had to syringe him three to four times a day with a special liquid diet because he was so little, ” she said.
“He’s a battler — on Saturday it could have gone one of two ways.”The RSPCA is still looking for information on the incident and is urging witnesses to call its Cruelty Hotline on 1300 278 3589.
