The City of Busselton has been spared the brunt of yesterday’s cold front with no call outs reported by the Busselton State Emergency Services.
The weather conditions, normally experienced with a winter cold front, saw damaging winds of up to 100km/h with a wind gust of 106km/h recorded at Cape Naturaliste at 3am.
At least 200 Western Power customers in Busselton were without power at 4am today.Busselton SES branch manager Gordon Bleechmore said there were reports of a big boat breaking free of its moorings in Quindalup, but the region has mostly “escaped the brunt of the storm”.
