A police pursuit in Bunbury last night ended when the driver of the car allegedly entered a roundabout too fast, hit a curb and clipped a traffic light before crashing the vehicle.
Bunbury police Sgt Robina Raabe said officers tried to stop the Mitsubishi Lancer, which was travelling at excessive speed, about 10.40pm but the driver accelerated away from them.
She said officers pursued the car and it entered an uncontrollable skid and crashed at the Eelup roundabout.
There were four people in the vehicle but none were seriously injured.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s, was arrested and has been charged with reckless driving, driving without a licence, failing to stop and driving an unregistered vehicle.It is understood the car was fitted with false plates.
