A loyal group of 29 carers will each receive $138,488 from their syndicate ticket — worth $4.60 — after winning the entire Division 1 prize pool in last Saturday’s $4 million Lotto draw.
The syndicate has been running for more than 20 years and a spokeswoman said she always thought the Systems 7 ticket was ‘‘silly’’ because it only contained one game of seven numbers — but she has now changed her tune.
She said she was scared to tell everyone at first in case she was wrong, so she checked with Mark Dennis at Crosslands Newsagency and had the good news confirmed.Members of the syndicate were overjoyed with the win and said sharing it with their colleagues made it even better as they discussed dreams of early retirements, cars, holidays and looking after loved ones and the community when they gathered at the Lotterywest Headquarters yesterday.
