Lighthouses light up for Starlight

Illuminate day will be celebrated at both Capes lighthouses tomorrow and funds raised will benefit the Starlight Children’s foundation.

Augusta-Margaret River Tourism Association chief executive Simon Ambrose said he was excited to co-host the event with the Geographe Bay Tourism Association as it was “a sensational day on the regional calendar”.

“Illuminate celebrates the importance of our lighthouses and their contribution to maritime safety,” Mr Ambrose said.

Starlight Children’s Foundation chief executive Louise Baxter said she was happy the foundation had been chosen because “the concept of Illuminate ties in perfectly with Starlight’s Mission.”

Visitors can join tours at the Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin lighthouses.

Entry is by gold coin donation. Participants are reminded to bring a torch.

Illuminate is on tomorrow between 3pm and 8pm. Visit www.margaretriver.com.
