A Starving Artist Market and a silent art auction are being held at the Busselton Community Garden Market tomorrow to raise funds to upgrade the garden’s original skate park.
Stalls will be set up throughout the garden to provide an opportunity to meet and talk with emerging and young artists with the aim of making art accessible and available at reasonable prices.
Spokeswomen Karen Seaman said it was an opportunity to buy local original art work instead of mass-produced prints.
Geographe Arts Bureau members Jane Holland, Lynne Boladeras and Betty Setzinger have joined Frances and Karen Seaman by donating small works of textile, painting and sculpture to the silent action.Ms Seaman said the plan to redevelop the skate park area would create infrastructure so children had a place to hang out and be exposed to gardening which enhances food security in the future.
