The new MS Society of WA’s Treendale Gardens facility has been boosted by a $10,000 donation from the South West Community Fundraisers Inc.

With the Op Shop Ball just around the corner — the fundraisers’ biggest annual event — the group took this year’s theme of ‘‘jungle fever’ to the 18-bed facility.

Treendale Gardens provides supported accommodation as well as respite beds and a family unit for people who suffer from multiple sclerosis or other neurological conditions.

The donation was used to buy specialised beds, hoists and artwork.

Facility manager Linda Kidd said the money and the ongoing support from the fundraisers would go a long way towards greater comfort and easier client care.

Fundraisers president Robbie Freia said it was great to see the group’s efforts go to worthwhile causes.

‘‘We’re delighted our fundraising ultimately makes a real difference for such a worthwhile project,’’ she said.

‘‘That’s what we are all about — inviting community to help community by coming along to enjoy our fun events so we can pass all proceeds on.’’

Tickets for the annual Op Shop Ball, to be held in September, are available by calling 0419 953 983.
