Rockingham man Luke Gadd is one of 10 high school graduates in the State who will travel to Canberra to begin officer training in the Australian Defence Force.
Mr Gadd has been appointed an officer cadet in the Australian Army and will study at the Australian Defence Force Academy.
His appointment ceremony took place at Irwin Barracks, Karrakatta, in front of family and friends, before he travels to the capital to start his first year of military training and university studies.
“It’s a very exciting opportunity for me and I am looking forward to it,” he said.
As an officer cadet, Luke will undertake a three-year military and academic program while studying for an undergraduate degree from his choice of arts, business, engineering, IT, science or technology options through UNSW Canberra at the ADFA.
