Rockingham City registered a third consecutive win after accounting for Fremantle Spirit 3-2 in last weekend’s State League Div 1 soccer fixture.

Rockingham made the most of home-ground advantage early, racing to a 3-0 half-time lead at Lark Hill. A brace from David Clark and a Rafa Indaurralde strike looked to have sealed maximum points for City, before Fremantle launched a second-half comeback.

The visitors found the net twice after the break, but Rockingham defended stoutly. The result lifts City to seventh ahead of this weekend’s clash with neighbours Mandurah.

Rockingham have accounted for Forrestfield, Ashfield and Fremantle in their last three outings and sit less than a game behind fifth-placed Shamrock Rovers. Rockingham’s reserves and U18s also enjoyed wins at the weekend by 6-1 and 3-2 scorelines respectively.
