Rockingham City missed a chance to close in on the top sides of the State League Div 1 competition following a 1-0 loss to Swan United at the weekend.
Neither side was able to break the deadlock in the first half, before former Floreat Athena and Inglewood midfielder Miki Vujacic netted the winner for the visitors.
Victory would have seen City climb as high as fifth and move within sight of promotion to the Premier Division.
However, they remain in eighth spot with five wins, five losses and four draws.
They face another acid test this weekend with a trip to ladder leaders Wanneroo.
Meanwhile, Rockingham’s reserves also sit in eighth spot after lowering their colours to Swan 1-0.
In the corresponding U18 match, Rockingham picked up a point with a 2-2 draw.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
