Warnbro resident Bronwyn Milkins is breathing new life into the tried-and-tested book club idea and is hoping to reach out to other young adult book lovers in the area.
Ms Milkins is starting the Second Tuesday Book Club at the Murdoch Library in Rockingham for young adults between 18 and 30. She is inviting any avid readers to come along. The group will be set up as a space to chat about books in a relaxed environment and Ms Milkins said it would be a way to connect with others over a shared passion.
“I know there are young people out there in Rockingham who enjoy reading and this is just a way for them to connect,” she said.
“We welcome all young adults aged 18-30 to the club; from hard-core book enthusiasts to those who enjoy a lazy afternoon read every so often.
“You might have just finished school, maybe you’re a young mum, you might be at uni or you might just love reading and want to come along and have a chat.”
The group meets every second Tuesday at Murdoch University library, Rockingham Campus, from 6.30-8pm. Tea, coffee and snacks are provided. For more information call the Murdoch Library on 9360 7068.
