It was not just children excited to have their photo taken with Father Christmas in the lead-up to Christmas last week.
While Father Christmas was busy asking Kwinana and Rockingham children what they wanted for Christmas, he also took time to fulfil a long-time wish for Parmelia woman Wendy Smith and her long-coat Chihuahua, Jasper.
Mrs Smith, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and has to use a wheelchair, said it had always been a Christmas wish to have Jasper photographed with Father Christmas.
When she was at the marketplace in Kwinana last Tuesday and bumped into Father Christmas, she told him her Christmas wish.
“I called him over and said to Santa, ‘I’ve got a real problem here Santa, I’ve got a furry-faced son and he’s a dog and I really want his photo taken with you’,” she said.
Not deterred by the request to have a photo taken with the four-legged friend, Father Christmas made a special visit outside the marketplace to have his photo taken with Jasper.
Mrs Smith said she never thought Father Christmas would have the time to have a photo with her pooch.“It was the best Christmas present,” she said.
