Nic Naitanui, arguably the most recognisable player in AFL football, will be in Hedland next week as part of the Kicking Goals program.

‘Nic Nat’, as fans affectionately refer to him, will bet at Hedland Senior High School from 9am Tuesday.

The emerging superstar will predominantly spend time with Year 8 and 9 students both inside and outside the classroom.

The West Coast Eagles’ Kicking Goals program, run in conjunction with Swan Districts Football Club and BHP Billiton, is one of Australia’s largest regional based AFL mentoring programs, combining sport-based initiatives to help high school students in the Pilbara towns of Port Hedland and Newman achieve better educational and employment outcomes.

Naitanui’s co-ruckman Dean Cox visited Hedland SHS on February 10.
