Basketball: Trouts take points in Tiger encounter

Undoubtedly the game of round 11 for the Karratha Basketball Association men’s summer competition was the A-grade battle between Coral Trouts and the Savannah Tigers.

The lead shifted back and forth between the second and third-placed teams throughout the game, with impressive skills shown from both sides.

In the end, the win went to the Coral Trouts by just one point, 27- 26.

George Sippe was impressive for the losing team, rarely being away from the main play and helping the Savannah Tigers to play above expectations in the loss.

The Hawks continued their top of the ladder form in the other A-grade game, producing a 45-26 win against the Heat.

There were no upsets in the B-grade men’s summer competition, with victories to the top three teams.

The Filkats overcame their bottom of the ladder rivals Brixton by 56-48 in a closer than expected game.

Meanwhile Mayuga Majik beat a lacklustre the Unnamed 88-17 in what can only be described as a thrashing.

The Blazers defeated Northmech 31-25 in the closest result of the B-grade competition round.
