Taking a stand against vandalism

The North West Telegraph has joined forces with the Town of Port Hedland in an effort to reduce vandalism around town.

The ‘Make Vandalism Vanish’ campaign encourages locals fed up with the constant disrespect for public property to call appropriate authorities.

North West Telegraph manager Mark Hinch said it was about time the community stopped accepting vandalism as a way of life in Hedland.

“This shouldn’t be allowed to continue,” he said. “If you see something, say something.”

Port Hedland Mayor Kelly Howlett said it was frustrating to continually have the Town’s hard work undone by the actions of a few.

“It is time that we regain the respect for each other, each other’s property and the respect for improvements and new things being done around town,” she said. “Please join the Town of Port Hedland, the North West Telegraph and WA Police as we make a stand.

“Together we can make a difference.”
