A man has been charged after he allegedly walked into a South Hedland home and attacked a young man inside with a hammer.
Police say the 25-year-old South Hedland man first used a knife and hammer to damage a car at the Steamer Ave house about 9pm.
He then allegedly went into the house and attacked the 22-year-old man inside, striking him with the hammer, before damaging the inside of the home.
He has been charged with one count of aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm; two counts of criminal damage and one count of aggravated burglary.
