Free tours, great giveaways and photography tips from Broome magistrate Colin Roberts will be some of the featured highlights this Sunday at the Broome Fishing Club open day.

Organisers expect this year’s event will be the biggest yet, with an action-packed morning of activities for the whole family.

The day is ideal for fishing enthusiasts, novices and people interested in learning more about Kimberley’s marine life.

Once again, the club will organise free morning tours to the Kimberley Training Institute’s Broome Aquaculture Centre.

As an added treat, visitors can catch a glimpse of the next batch of juvenile barramundi that are due for release into Dampier Creek, and Ord River juveniles destined to stock Kununurra waterways later this year.

Other activities include fishing displays, retail bargains and talks from local groups including Department of Environment and Conservation, Environs Kimberley and Woodside.

Broomemagistrate Roberts will make a guest appearance, with tips on fishing photography.

A host of children’s activities will also be held on the day, including a face-painting activity.

The Sunday morning activities will be followed by a relaxing afternoon of live entertainment and an aqua bouncy castle for local youngsters.
