One point separated the teams in both matches of the touch football semi finals on Monday.

The game between Magical Unicorns and Mad Dogs was fast flowing as teams scored try for try, with Magical Unicorns in front at the final whistle.

Black Team outplayed the Werewolves, with one player scoring five tries, bringing the team to a narrow victory.

Touch football organiser Allan Girdler said the gender-friendly nature of the mixed competition attracted players from all ages and backgrounds, including children from age 12 upwards.

“It caters for people who don’t play AFL because if you’re not into that, there’s not a lot for you,” he said.

“You don’t have to be skilled to play it, that’s the good thing about it.”

The touch football grand final will be on Monday, December 5. Mad Dogs will play Werewolves at 6pm to decide third and fourth place.

This will be followed by the premiership match between Magical Unicorns and Black Team at 7pm.

“I’d like to thank The Kimberley Echo, SWEK, the Country Club, Sporties and Touch West for your support through the season and, most of all, I’d like to thank all players, the committee and everyone who helped with the touch competition,” Mr Girdler said.
