Country Arts WA has granted $249,593 of funding to regional and rural WA arts organisations, including the Kimberley, enabling them to administer annual arts programs directly to their communities.
Thirteen organisations have been awarded annual funding between $9000 and $40,000 due to the financial support of the State Government through the Department of Culture and the Arts and Lotterywest.
This is one of the few grants available that contributes to operational expenses such as staff wages, rent and power bills.
With this funding each organisation will deliver a year-long program of arts activities to a broad cross section of participants from their community.
In a true contribution to the arts across our State the Annual Funding program will support organisations servicing eight of the nine West Australian regions.
This includes the Kimberley, Gascoyne, Mid-West, Goldfields-Esperance, Wheatbelt, South West, Great Southern and Peel.
A total of 12 applications to the Vital category were assessed in December 2012 with a total request of $119,850.The closing date for this round is Friday, October 11, 2013.
