Albany Racing Club president Annette Crump believes the club is well prepared to cater for yet another bumper crowd that will flock to Percy Spencer Racecourse for the annual Boxing Day Races next Wednesday.
Between 2000 and 3000 spectators are expected to file through the gates next week for the popular event.
Quality fields are likely to nominate for the seven-race card while Crump said the weather was also looking promising.
“The weather is going to be fantastic, so the crowd should be on the upper end of the scale,” she said.
“It will be a fantastic day for sure.”
A free bus to and from the races will be available to patrons, with pick-up and drop-off points listed on the club’s website, while live music Hit And Miss will keep the crowd entertained.
Crump said extra bars, drink-ticket outlets and tote facilities were ready to cater for the influx of spectators.
Group bookings for more than 10 people can be placed through the club for $30 a person, with the price including entry and seating in a marquee, while entry on the day will cost $20 for adults, and be free for children.Great Southern alcohol and drug officer Senior Constable Mike Fazio confirmed police would have a presence both inside and outside the racecourse, and urged patrons to drink responsibly and enjoy the day.
