The 30th anniversary of the Denmark Markets has arrived and is set to kick off the WA summer market season in spectacular fashion.
Hundreds of people are expected to flock to Denmark this weekend to enjoy quality food and entertainment in a family-friendly setting.
Visitors traditionally enjoy unique, handcrafted local and regional products, jewellery, painting, photography, clothes, candles, artefacts and hearty and wholesome local produce.
Denmark Arts executive Christine Ritter said the markets were well-known on the market circuit and an important contributor to the Denmark economy.
“Apart from just having the stalls we have got a beautiful setting down by the river and an entertainment program with a strong focus on kid’s entertainment,” she said.
“It is not just about going to a market, you also have your entertainment and a whole social day out and I think that is what really attracts people.”
The markets were established in 1981 and attract more than 8000 visitors every year.
They are the first of four markets this season and are open from 10am to 4pm this Saturday at Berridge Park in Denmark.Hulk leads Brazil to 3-1 win over error-prone DenmarkHulk leads Brazil to 3-1 win over error-prone Denmark Reuters
