Man dead in Albany crash

UPDATE: A car has caught on fire after crashing into a tree near Albany, killing the male driver who was trapped inside.
Police say the inferno was so intense that only three numbers from the car’s numberplate are visible.
They say they will have to rely on dental records or DNA to identify the man.
The crash occurred on a straight stretch of road about 6.20am on Rutherford Road, Torbay, 30km east of Albany.
Albany Police are at the scene investigating the cause of the crash.Follow thewest.com.au on Twitter
