The Goldfields Children Charity launched its annual raffle on Saturday at St Barbara’s Square as preparations for the popular charity ball step up a gear.
With its Majestic theme this year, the ball will be held on March 23 with Silver Lake Resources the major sponsors.
Raffle tickets are being sold for $100 and the 1000 tickets have sold out for the last three years.
First prize is a Volkswagen Tiguan with a portable barbecue, Waeco Fridge and picnic set worth more than $35,000. “Every year the Goldfields community throws their support behind us and our beneficiaries, which is evident by the raffle selling out for the past three years,” spokeswoman Emma Woodcock said.
“This year we are raising money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Ronald McDonald House Perth and the Goldfields Children Charity.
“We will be selling tickets on Saturdays and Thursday nights at St Barbara’s Square in the lead-up to the ball and we encourage everyone in Kalgoorlie to come down and support us.” The Goldfields Children Charity is a locally run not-for-profit group and provides support for local children.
