Despite winning only one game at the weekend’s State Basketball League pre-season tournament in Perth, Silver Lake Resources Goldfields Giants coach Dan Fisher believes they took plenty away from the competition.
Victorious against a Country Under 18s outfit, the local side was handed defeats by the Perth Redbacks, Kalamunda Eastern Suns and Stirling Senators in their remaining matches.
But with an influx of new talent set to take to the court this season, Fisher said he gained good insight into his list.
“I thought it was good to get the cobwebs out,” Fisher said.
“Everyone played and it was good to have a look at the young fellas like Tane Moran, Miles Tierney and Mike Exell.“We had a good look at our new import Steve Weingarten and met our new import Markhuri Sanders-Frison."
