Goldfields eightball exponent Dax Wasley has narrowly missed Australian selection – despite playing a starring role for WA at the just-completed national titles.
The 28-year-old, who previously represented South Australia at the championships in 2003, was a key factor in securing WA’s runner-up status in Surfers Paradise, Queensland.
Wasley won three of his four frames, but it could not prevent WA’s 17-12 loss in the final to Victoria.
With a 55 per cent winning ratio during the round-robin stages, Wasley – who has been playing since he was 11 – was WA’s standout performer in the finals series.
“During the final I won three out of my four frames and during all finals I won 10 out of 12,” Wasley said.
“I only wish it (my form) was good enough to get us over the line."'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
