Despite not having an entrant in Saturday’s XXXX Gold $150,000 Kalgoorlie Cup, Albany trainer Steve Wolfe was arguably the biggest winner on the Race Round’s prized day.
With six runners, Wolfe dominated the 10-race program – claiming four winners and a second and in the process, teamed up with apprentice Natasha Faithful for an esteemed treble.
Leaving yesterday for a 12-day holiday in the US, the leading Great Southern trainer said he thoroughly enjoyed the performances of his horses.
“It is great to have a day like that,” Wolfe said.
“I had a treble on Boulder Cup day about 13 or 14 years ago.“I know about 97 per cent of people up in Kalgoorlie as I have spent a lot of time up there, so to win those races is good.”
