Workers’ CLUB made it back-to-back summer eightball premierships when they upset Grand Blue in last week’s grand final.

In the finale to an absorbing season, Workers’ Club overcame a slow start to finish full of running – becoming the first side since Paddy’s Bar back in 2004-05 to claim consecutive flags.

Grand Blue exploded out of the blocks and appeared to be coasting after opening up a 4-1 lead before Workers’ Club dug deep to eventually level the scores at 6-all.

Workers’ Club then stepped it up another level to reel off the next three games to eventually raise the trophy on the back of a 9-6 victory.
