Pavlich ready for 2012

Fremantle Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich is excited about playing as a specialist forward again under new coach Ross Lyon for the 2012 AFL season.

“Throughout my career I’ve played in a variety of roles but up forward is probably the most natural that comes to me, ” Pavlich said yesterday.

The Dockers are in Esperance until tomorrow for their 2012 community camp – visiting school students, running instructional sessions and meeting local players, officials and supporters.

Pavlich joined several teammates yesterday at Nulsen Primary School while groups of other players fanned out across the district.

According to Pavlich, community camps were an important component in assisting regional players to achieve their dreams. “The best thing is for local communities to see AFL players and hearing the message of what it is like to be an AFL player,” Pavlich said.

“We speak about our dreams becoming a reality and playing AFL football and there are legitimate pathways now in the country that can lead players to their dreams.”
