Hannans player-coach Rick Smith-Ince has backed opening pair Nathan Perry-Warnes and Collin Stewart to play a big role in the Goldfields A grade turf cricket finals series.
The duo have put on a half-century partnership on three occasions this season, which includes a highest stand of 77 against Lake View in round six.
Perry-Warnes made 41 and Stewart added 25 in Sunday’s win over North Kalgoorlie as both players returned to form.
“They have both had a bit of a tough run of late but they have been working really hard at training,” Smith-Ince said.
“They have gone back to basics a bit in the nets, working on their mindset and technique.
“I know Collin is a very aggressive player and he’s been devastated that he hasn’t contributed as much as he would have liked recently."'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2012.
