A century from Great Boulder opener Brett Simmonds lifted his side to a convincing win over Hannans in the latest round of Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association reserves fixtures.

Simmonds, who had averaged 9.18 in 13 innings prior to the weekend, was in superb touch en route to compiling 127 which featured 16 boundaries and five sixes.

His innings formed the backbone of Great Boulder’s 9-263 and included a 152-run third-wicket partnership with David Forrest (46).

Corey Parker, Jon Brodala and Phil Holmwood briefly stemmed the tide with two wickets apiece.

In reply, Hannans were in early trouble at 0-2 before Parker (25) and Robbie Leahy (28) added 50 for the third wicket.

That partnership provided the only notable resistance as Hannans were bowled out for 152 with nine overs to spare.
