Hannans captain Collin Stewart led from the front to guide his team to a commanding win over Lake View in Friday night’s Atlas Copco Twenty20 final at the Sir Richard Moore Sports Centre.
Unbeaten in 13 matches heading into the decider, Hannans were rarely troubled in chasing down Lake View’s 9-93 for the loss of only one wicket.
Clearly relishing the captaincy, Stewart was again superb from the No.3 position, smashing an unbeaten 38 from 17 scoring shots as Hannans put the finishing touches on a dominant series.
Opener Keeley Todd was just as damaging, highlighting his 42 not out with five boundaries and two sixes.
There was little the Viewers’ attack could do to stem the flow of runs as Hannans muscled their way to victory in the 11th over.
Stewart, who led the competition for runs scored with 165 through four matches, was quick to pay tribute to his side’s bowlers, who kept Lake View pinned down with consistent line and length.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2012.
