This year’s Pack my Backpack campaign has been hailed a success by the Rotary Club of Hannans.

The club’s youth chairwoman Lorraine Horsley said she was rapt with the response to the campaign in its third year.

“We collected about $600 of stationery to ease the burden for families who are struggling financially,” she said.

“The stationery was distributed to schools in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and received a great response.

Mrs Horsley said the club was very grateful to sponsors and individuals who contributed.

“A huge thank you to everyone else who bought a few extra pens and pencils to pop in the collection box,” she said.
