A Kalgoorlie-Boulder man has been jailed for 15 months after racially abusing and assaulting a police officer.
Dallas Allen Rodden, 22, appeared in the Kalgoorlie District Court yesterday with a string of charges against his name.
The court heard Rodden was refused entry to a bar on Hannan Street in March – police saw him swearing at security staff and told him to move on.
Rodden then began to swear at police and was issued a move-on notice but he returned to the bar and tried to gain entry once again.
Police arrested Rodden – during the arrest he became enraged and called one of the officers a “black c***”, kicking him in the groin at the same time.
Rodden was already on a suspended imprisonment order for two aggravated burglaries in 2011.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
