Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate romance in one’s life and when people show their love and appreciation of each other.

This year, the special day coincides with Western Australia Sexual Health Week and National Condom Day.

To help promote sexual health and happy relationships, Goldfields Population Health is co-ordinating a “Love Shak” at St Barbara’s Square today from noon to sundown.

The event will include a free barbecue, hip hop dances, music games, prizes and free sexual health screenings by qualified nurses.

It is being run in conjunction with Bega Garnbirringu, the Goldfields Women’s Health Care Centre, Kalgoorlie’s Police and Community Youth Centre and the Sexual Assault Resource Centre.
