Kalgoorlie-Boulder voters are a little confused about which district they will be voting in at the State election.
This has added impetus to the calls for voters to update their enrolment details before next week’s deadline and to find out whether they will be voting in the district of Kalgoorlie or Eyre.
The confusion comes because the boundary for the seats is split among a number of streets between Kalgoorlie and Boulder.
Returning officer for the district of Kalgoorlie Ruth Clarke said some people were unsure of the exact boundary and where they were enrolled to vote.
“Sometimes they move a few times and they don’t necessarily recall where they are enrolled,” she said.
“So it is always good to check your enrolment and know where you are enrolled and know it is up to date.”The deadline for enrolling is next Thursday. For more information on checking your enrolment, visit www.elections.wa.gov.au, phone 13 63 06 or visit the Australian Electoral Commission office at 2/37 Brookman Street, Kalgoorlie.
