The Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex development has received a boost, with $1 million dollars in funding announced on Tuesday.
Minister for Sport and Recreation Terry Waldron announced 55 successful Community Sporting and Recreation and Facilities Fund grants across the State.
The Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex was one of only four successful grant applications to receive $1m or more in funding.
The grant will pay for a new clubhouse, a range of recreation amenities and an expansion of the existing DR Morrison oval, as well as the relocation of the Goldfields Equestrian Club to new facilities.
Mining and Pastoral MLC Wendy Duncan welcomed the announcement of more funding for the complex.
“This funding ads to the considerable contribution of Royalties for Regions funds for the project comprising nearly $4m,” said Ms Duncan.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
