Two Boulder sisters were lucky to escape injury after their bedroom ceiling collapsed on Sunday morning.
Krystal Aldridge and 18-month-old Jorgia Ginger-Gloede had been awake for a few hours when their ceiling started to cave in as a result of heavy rain. “In the early hours of the morning, around 2am, I was woken up by a big bang, ” Jorgia’s father Christopher Ginger said.
“I came running in here to see what it was, and it seemed to be fine, but the next morning the ceiling had collapsed.”
Initial damage estimates were being compiled yesterday.
State Emergency Service manager Felix Van Gelderen said incidents like this often happened during wet weather.“It’s the old story with leaky roofs and insulation,” he said.
