Swimming star Libby Trickett was the classic fish out of water during a visit to the Australian Prospectors and Miners Hall of Fame yesterday.
As a four-time Olympic gold medallist, the precious metal proved elusive as ever but Trickett still managed to find a small speck while panning at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder tourist attraction.
She was joined by fellow Olympic swimmers Matt Welsh, Linley Frame and Ashley Callus, along with water polo players Alicia McCormack and Toby Jenkins, as they arrived in the Goldfields for the BHP Billiton Aquatic Super Series.
Tomorrow the group will headline a Sportsman’s Breakfast at the Kalgoorlie Golf Course from 7am.“The Sportsman’s Breakfast will be an opportunity for local sporting representatives to network with professional athletes and coaches and hear some of their success stories,” Mayor Ron Yuryevich said.
