The introduction of a new Monday morning flight by Skywest Airlines could be "absolutely wonderful" for business in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
The airline will begin operating a 7am Monday flight from Kalgoorlie-Boulder to Perth on January 21.
A spokesman for Skywest said the new service was instituted to provide an opportunity for business travellers to make it back to Perth before the start of the working day.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry deputy president Paul Browning said the new flight should be a great boost to those who need to travel between Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Perth for business.
“I would say it’s absolutely wonderful to have an earlier Monday morning flight,” Mr Browning said.
“The fact you can be in Perth for a full business day starting on Monday would be a huge benefit for Kalgoorlie business people.”Mr Browning said prior to the new flight, travellers with Monday morning appointments would have to stay overnight in Perth on a Sunday, which was a burden on those wanting to be based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
