A Kalgoorlie teenager is the only Goldfields student to join the elite club of school leavers who achieved an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank of 99 or higher.
Davaadorj Erdenebayar of Eastern Goldfields College received an ATAR of 99.15, putting him on the path to a career in medicine.
Only 127 students across WA scored 99 or higher, which Education Minister Peter Collier said was a testament to their commitment and dedication. “I was pretty excited when I found out,” Davaadorj said.
“I was really nervous – I didn’t expect to get 99.
“My family were really happy as well, I think they were even more excited than I was.”
Davaadorj is hoping his ATAR will see him accepted into an assured entry pathway to medicine at the University of WA.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
