Stabber must attend counselling

Andrew Brosnan, Kalgoorlie Miner December 18, 2012, 10:30 am

A man who stabbed his former partner has narrowly avoided a prison term, instead receiving a pre-sentence order and being forced to attend domestic violence counselling.

The court heard Dixon Foley, 22, used a small kitchen knife to stab the victim once in each thigh in September.

Foley then left the scene and was arrested by police a short time later.

If he breaches the pre-sentence order or fails to attend the counselling, he will be imprisoned for 14 months.
