Ashburton role for mayor

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder mayor Ron Yuryevich has been named the sole commissioner of the Shire of Ashburton for six months.

This comes after Local Government Minister John Castrilli suspended the nine councillors and ordered them to undertake governance training.

Mr Yuryevich said the decision shows “local government in Kalgoorlie-Boulder is looked upon in a good light”.
