Yacht towed to harbour

A yacht that was stranded near Israelite Bay at the weekend after its engine failed was towed back to Esperance by a fishing boat to undergo repairs.

The skipper of the yacht contacted authorities about 7.30pm on Saturday when the vessel’s engine failed.

It arrived at the Bandy Creek boat harbour late on Sunday afternoon.

It is understood the yacht’s mainsail was blown out during a storm late last week.

The skipper of the rescued boat declined to comment about the incident.
