Police appeal to city: lock up

Andrew Brosnan, Kalgoorlie Miner December 6, 2012, 10:08 am

Kalgoorlie Police are becoming frustrated with the lack of response to their repeated warnings to the community to protect their house from burglars.

Last weekend saw a number of criminals embark on a crime spree that resulted in 21 homes being burglarised.

In nine of these cases, offenders were able to gain access through unsecured doors or windows.

In one instance, they used a tool belonging to a home owner left unsecured at the rear of the property to force their way inside.

The police say far too many opportunities are being provided to offenders by the community.
