Women's mental health services have been given a boost with a new counsellor starting at the Goldfields Women’s Health Care Centre this week.
Sandi Hayes will be providing counselling, life coaching and workshops from the centre to help fill the gap in mental health services for women.
Ms Hayes, a grandmother of seven and qualified psychologist, said she was passionate about women’s issues.
“Women have many roles in their lives and it has been found they do not reduce how much they do at home once they enter into full-time work,” she said.
“I have broad experience in managing mental health agencies and taught second chance learners in addition to my counselling experience.”
Services will also be available over the Christmas period by making an appointment on 9021 8266 or by visiting www.gwhcc.org.au for more information.'The West Australian' is a trademark of West Australian Newspapers Limited 2013.
