The beach was the place to be to cool off after the mercury hit an unseasonably high 35.3C in Esperance last Tuesday.
It was the first hot day of the October holidays and with plenty of tourists in town, the beaches were popular with sunbakers and surfers alike.
While it was hot on the land, the cold water took a bit of getting used to.
